Now that my one year wedding anniversary is just around the corner, I’ve been trying to come up with ideas to get my husband. I didn’t want to give him one thing, but several and aside from cooking his favorite dinner I’d been coming up blank. Finally, last night my sister suggested that I order him some men cologne. She knows he wears cologne and said that it’s one of those things that as long as the guy wears men cologne that it will be well received. I believe finding the right men cologne to wear should be as unique as the person wearing it, which is why recently when my son was standing behind someone in the checkout line at the mall and he wanted the bottle of men cologne that the person in front of me was buying, I said no. He’s 16 and at that age where he doesn’t seem to comprehend the word no, but I explained to him that he needed to try on men cologne and choose something that works with his body and not just choose something because he likes the name brand. Waiting on the sidewalk for my friend to come back from the bank beachside, I noticed a group of three overdressed dudes with sunglasses, sport jackets, jeans and dress shoes strutting down my way. The average person had sandals, swimsuits and loose tank tops as we were on the beach and the sun was out. These guys looked to be headed for a club or something. I took my attention elsewhere until they passed by because I had no choice. One or all of them had enough men cologne on to knock out an ox. These dudes had no idea how the stench of way to much discount cologne followed them like a cape. It was a reminder of the power perfumes and colognes have. In the wrong hands they can turn people away instead putting off a good vibe.

The person who over sprays perfumes and colognes never knows it. Until someone lets them in on the mistake it’s just a real turn off like bad breath. This morning I downloaded a new application for my smart phone that is specifically for gift giving. The application is one that a friend of mine uses when she starts gift shopping for the holidays and has proved useful to her time and time again. I was talking to her last night about some men cologne that I’d found online and was thinking about ordering for my husband, she suggested the program. I added it to my phone and immediately I could see why she loves it so much. I was able to create groups and lists for people that I want to buy for and the men cologne for my husband was at the top of his list at this point. Two nights ago my brother and sister in law stopped in for a visit and ended up staying for dinner. During our dinner chat, my sister in law told me about the men cologne that my brother had bought at the mall several days before and paid far too much for it. Anyone who has online banking can go back through every single month and look at the expenses. Then it is just a matter of grouping them in bills, necessities and entertainment. This morning before I sent my son off to school for his first day, I splashed a little of his dads men cologne on him and he smiled.
