This morning when I opened the front door to get the morning newspaper, I found a small package on the front door step. I looked around, didn’t see anyone and saw that the package was addressed to me. I opened it and found a perfume gift set inside along with a note that said, “Thanks for being there.” It wasn’t signed and even though I noticed that the perfume gift set was my favorite, I still had no idea who it could be from. I looked around outside to see if any of my neighbors could possibly be outside so I could ask who had left the mystery package, but I didn’t see a soul. I smiled as I walked back in the house and about that time the phone rang. I saw from the caller ID that it was my next door neighbor. She asked if I’d found the note and I asked if the note and perfume gift set were from her. She confirmed and said that it was for me watching her dog when she was away on vacation and for always being there any time she needed me. I explained that I was happy to be there and I didn’t need a perfume gift set, but that I really appreciated it.
