This was John’s third month in the gym and his trainer thought he was ready to get in the ring for real. His first fight was scheduled in another two weeks so they were working extremely hard to get ready. John is a big guy. He comes from a family of older brothers who beat on him growing up. John can take a punch which was apparent during this boxing lesson. His opponent was new to boxing too but had won two fights prior to this one against John. I was at the gym to lend support and pick up on a few of the moves. Boxers train hard.
