perfumes and colognes, men cologneI have passed the stage of wearing women's perfume to try and attract a mate because I am already very happily married. I wear women's perfume because I like the smell of me when I have some on. Of course I am also hoping that my husband likes what he smells.
I may be happily married now but I can still remember being on the dating scene when I was single. Perfumes and colognes are definitely important. I remember having a brief romance with a bouzouki playing psychiatrist called Nikos when I lived in Athens, Greece. It all started when I dined in the restaurant where he was playing that night. You know how it goes when your eyes lock and the attraction is both mutual and instantaneous. It’s not love at first sight. Instead it is lust at first sight and it’s a pretty powerful feeling.
After Nikos had finished his set he came over to my table and started talking to me. As he did so I caught a whiff of his men cologne and what I smelled made me feel even more attracted to him. We ended up going out on a couple of dates. Nikos was very smart, talented and handsome. He knew it too and as a result he had a conceit about him that I found very unattractive. Still remembering the experience of first smelling Nikos’s men cologne reminds me of just how significant a role perfumes and colognes play when it comes to attraction.
